Hellooo :) Today was a rather good day! Quite surprisingly haha. Before they came (and after my previous post) I started playing random Facebook games like Snake (lol) and Typing Maniac (:D) and Sudoku! I think I solved 10 Sudoku puzzles this morning =.= Simply because of the fact that I wanted to be in the high scores list among all Facebook users lol. Ended up on the weekly one only, not the all-time one :(
Well at 10+ we started practising, Michelle and I practised quite a bit but I’m scared because I know I won’t have enough stamina to play through all three pieces :(
Practised with Ros too, it took quite a short time. More playing around, babyfroze (haha), and then it was around 2+ when we left NY.
Val and I bused down to Taka and had Mos Burger for lunch before we went to Kinokuniya in search for scores! :D Haha we walked around the entire place trying to find the scores section lol, and then searched for scoressss. There were many saxophone/clarinet/flute stuff, most of which were solo stuff. Also had brass ensemble stuff, but they were rather/too simple. So we ended up resorting to decide on using a flute duet, rearranged for horn and trombone haha.
I got a book entitled “I Found My Horn”. It seems pretty cute; on the cover it says “One Man’s Struggle with the Orchestra’s Most Difficult Instrument” Hahaha :D It’s by Jasper Rees, and the summary at the back goes;
On the threshold of forty, Jasper Rees fished his French horn out of the attic and, despite limited ability, set himself a near-impossible target: to stand up in front of a paying audience in twelve months’ time and play a Mozart concerto. Alone.
This is the inspiring story, not only of a midlife rethink, but also of man’s first musical instrument, and its journey from the hunting fields of aristocratic France to Sgt Pepper’s Lonely Hearts Club Band. Along the way, Jasper asks every major horn player in the world for advice as he prepares to stand up in front of a packed auditorium and perform on this notoriously treacherous instrument. They all say the same thing.
Don’t do it.
Hahah. Sounds pretty cute to me, hope it’ll be a good read. :)
Ohh and Weiqi and their friend came, and then it felt awkward hahaha and we went different ways at City Hall.
Gaahhh it doesn’t feel like there’s Music paper on Thursday, sabbats are tmr and Wednesday and I don’t think I’ll study till Wed night or something oh no :( :(
